Hey! We're so glad you're here to check out all the cool stuff we've got going on for kids at CoshNaz! You know, there are a lot of different ways to learn about God--He can show up whether you're making a kite to earn a badge or acting out a drama with rods. One thing we know for sure is that we enjoy learning about Him while we're having fun together.  Come and join us!

Caravan

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight."  Proverbs 3:5-6.  This verse is the theme forPhineas Bresee Award Winners Caravan because God should be at the center of everything we do.  Our kids are learning to grow in "wisdom and stature" every Wednesday night at 7pm, and they're having a great time doing it!  They earn badges just like in scouting programs, while also learning memory verses and growing in their relationship with God and others.  We'd love to have your child as part of our program.  Kids are always welcome to drop in and try out Caravan any time!  If you stick with it, you could earn a sash full of badges and the Phineas F. Brezee award--the highest Caravan honor (like the girls in our picture!)

Children's Quizzing

Our Sunday night Bible Quiz Program has been awesome this year!  We had 24 kids digging deep with Dr. Digalot (and his camel sidekick) in the Word in the books of Joshua, Judges, and Ruth.  Do you know what land Caleb asked Joshua for? or what time of year that Ruth arrived in Bethlehem with her mother-in-law?  Well...our quizzers do!  The coolest part about this year was the time together and the awards for everything from "Sweet As Pie" to "Most Studious" and "Biggest Smile of the Day."  The only thing better than a gold quiz ribbon is a reward for just being an awesome kid and a can of silly string to go with it! Our quizzers are wrapping up the season with District and Regional Quizzes in March and April--and some well-deserved ice cream sundaes!

Sunday Morning Children's Program

Miss Tami has been doing something a little different in children's church the past few weeks....we've been hearing bongo drums and all sorts of music that sounds like it's straight out of Africa, but it's coming from our kids! We are so blessed to have someone teaching who is so passionate about the kids finding a true relationship with Jesus Christ. We've stocked up our "Kid's Club" room with Bibles so the kids can begin to learn how to find the books of the Bible and look up Scriptures on their own. The kids even have a chance to break up in small groups, talk about the lesson, and pray together.  We meet downstairs every Sunday once dismissed from the morning worship service (around 11 a.m.)

Handbells & Kinderchurch

We're really excited about changing up Kinderchurch with a new curriculum called Elevate.  Upbeat music and colorful powerpoint videos go along with the lesson taught by Anne Pessia and Pastor Kelly.  We think the kids are going to enjoy the energy of the program--especially since they've got a lot of energy themselves!  We always have snacks, and we play handbells too!  It all happens when we're dismissed from the service at around 11am.

Fish Stix

Our fifth- and sixth-graders look forward to our drama/rod ministry every week.  Jen Spang and Amy Boone teach the kids a creative and meaningful program to perform in front of the church at Christmas and Easter.  It's a powerful ministry, and it takes a lot of work to get it right, so the kids practice for three months prior to both of the performances every Sunday morning once they're dismissed from the morning worship service at 11am.  And of course, to keep the kids growing spiritually as they're ministering in this way, their leaders engage them in devotions and prayer during each practice.  They just started working on their newest song...it's not too late to join them!

J12 Pre-teen Group

Our pre-teen group is the largest in the church and we've decided they need some special attention!  We fixed up the loft in the Teen Center to give them a place of their own and their Sunday school class has moved over there already. and start lessons on "What do I believe?" the first week of March.  J12, the new name for the pre-teens, stands for "Jesus at 12", based on the Scriptures where He was learning in the Temple and learning about His Father.  (You could also compare them to Him at that age because they're taking off all the time and parents can't keep up with them!)  The first J12 meeting starts when kids are dismissed from morning worship on Sunday, May 2.  We're having snacks, drinks, and games to start us off, and our first lesson...don't miss it!

Dinosaur Dig!

On Sunday nights starting April 25, we'll be digging in God's Word and the new lessons from the Creation museum to learn the truth about how this world came to be!  How old is the earth?  Were dinosaurs in the Bible?  Were they on the ark?  Can I believe in Science and the Bible?  We'll try to answer those questions and more during our five-week creation class.  THEN...FIELD TRIP!  There's no better way to wrap up a lesson about creation and dinosaurs than to take a trip to the Creation Museum!  We're planning a day trip (more info to come), and we're hoping to take lots of families.

Children's Talent

This year we're taking 44 kids to share their talents at this District Event.  Kids from all over North Central Ohio will gather at Mt. Vernon First Church to practice using their talents for God.  This is a good chance for kids to get used to singing and playing in front of a group of people.  We just love the chance to build them up and encourage them to give their best effort for God!  Our children's choir, children's band, and Fish Stix will all be performing, as well individual children singing, playing violin and piano, and sharing crafts, creative writing, and photography.

Coming this Summer...

Vacation Bible School and Summer Camps will give us all plenty to look forward to and keep us busy! A list of all of the dates are on our Children's Calendar link at the top of the page. Write them down right away so you can plan your summer vacations around them!

Courageous Kids

That's what we need in today's world...kids who are not afraid to share the story of Jesus and to stand up for their faith!  This series starts up on Wednesday nights just after school's out in June.  Linae Cox has been working on it for months to make it an extra-special, fun time for the kids!
